The Photography Group usually meets at The Hub in Wroxham on the 3rd Friday of each month 2pm – 4pm, with additional off-site location photography shoots throughout the year. Past activities have included photo-treasure hunts, the occasional fun quiz and photo competitions.
The monthly subscription for each Hub meeting is £3 which covers hall hire, and refreshments etc…
It is a friendly social group that caters for a shared passion of taking photographs.
Each month a new topic is selected and members can submit 5 images relating to that topic being as creative as they wish in their interpretation of the task. These are then presented to the group at each monthly meeting on a big screen.
In addition, each month, members are invited to send in one ‘special image’ – a subject of their choice, and this is then presented anonymously to the group to encourage a constructive critique.
We are not experts but as individuals have skills providing opportunities where we can all learn and share from each other, whether we happen to be a complete beginner or a more experienced snapper.
We do also appreciate that with digital photography some basic computer skills are required such as, saving your photos from camera to computer, and being able to send to others by email, to name but a few. If you are new to this do not be put off, we have members in the group willing to help learn these skills on a one-to-one basis outside of normal group meetings.
Whatever camera you prefer to use, you are welcome to join our group and share your enthusiasm for creativity – and in this modern age, users of the smartphone and compact point and shoot cameras are equally welcome.
